Join me to learn these timeless rituals for self healing and self care from Ayurveda and Yoga and the Wise Woman Traditions of Herbalism
And ground yourself into the seasonal shifts, whether the next season in the wheel of the year, or the next season of your life.
Maybe you’re looking for a place to start with a holistic way to balance your hormones and heal your cycle, or you’re a busy mom in desperate need of nourishment and a solution for anxiety, or you’re also an alternative health care practitioner yourself and you know you need to ground yourself and uplevel your self care.
When I work with my clients 1 on 1, we work to establish some of these self care practices first, to bolster the individuated herbal support and specific healing tools they receive.
These rituals are my baseline self care practices, and I want all women to feel empowered by having them in their back pockets. When practiced daily, they produce profound and obvious results. I have been told by women I work with that these tools have literally saved their lives – and I credit them for saving mine when I was at my lowest, and for still maintaining my energy and sanity as a mom, as a wife, and as a working woman in this modern world.
Meet Adena
Use these ancestral, practical and effective tools to come back to your best self, and as a baseline for healing.
Feel steady and strong, make more empowered choices when your nervous system is nourished and grounded.
I am professionally trained, and a forever student of Ayurveda, Maya Abdominal Therapy, herbs, druidry, and wise-woman ways. At this time I am choosing not to label myself, or aspire to a title or outer authority to deem me fit to practice. I pray that this keeps me working from a place of humility, as well as self-confidence.
I aim to share the most practical, useful tools from these authentic sources and guide women in applying them to their lives.
I have personally used each of these tools from Ayurveda and Yoga and Herbal Medicine to stop anxiety attacks in their tracks, to recover from postpartum anxiety and depression, and to nourish myself when I felt totally at the bottom of my barrel. And no matter how complicated life gets, I always come back to these life changing and life giving practices. I am ever grateful that these tools have been shared with me – and I am honored to pass them on to you.
BREATH AS RITUAL
Learning how to breathe properly is life changing. Learn simple breathwork/pranayama techniques that build energy over time, and can stop anxiety in its tracks. The more efficient the body can be in its use of oxygen, the degeneration of the body is slowed down. Breath is also very much connected with the nervous system, and especially the enteric nervous system (think gut and digestion!) and we all know when we digest better, we receive deeper nourishment. Come and learn how to add a daily breathwork practice into your life. In this class I share my daily breathwork practice and how and why it’s worked for me (even with a toddler crawling all over me!)
SELF MASSAGE
In Ayurveda, oil is used for healing in so many ways. The sanskrit word for oil is Sneha, which means ‘lavish love.’ And what a remedy for these days – just pour a little love on it!
Regular practice of Self Massage with herbal oils is deeply relaxing, nourishing on all levels, and helps the body in it’s natural, daily, detoxification processes. Learn how to do this for yourself, which oils to use for your body type and needs, and feel inspired to bring it into your life regularly.
HERBS
Herbal medicine can feel daunting to those who are just starting their studies. But herbal medicine is for everyone!
Learn how to choose totally simple and safe herbs that most-likely grow near you for daily nourishing infusions.
This is MUCH more than TEA. An Infusion is an ancient and important way to use herbals and stay hydrated as well. Fill your body with the energy of herbs, phytonutrition, including necessary vitamins for women’s bodies like calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, vitamins A, K, and more, and avoiding unnecessary supplements.
Learn which herbs to choose based on the doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, and your health goals according to ayurvedic understanding, as well as seasonal influence, and even stage of life.
Students say:
“As a teacher you are warm, clear, and engaging. It’s obvious that your learning runs deep and that you have much to offer from personal experience as well as theory.”
“You have a beautiful way of explaining Ayurvedic practices with clarity.”
“I feel a renewed sense of vigor towards ensuring all of my practices are incorporated into my daily life, which is nourishing to my mental and physical health!”
"Abhyanga saved my life."
